Kerala is an established destination for both domestic as well as foreign tourists. Kerala is well known for its beaches, backwaters in Alappuzha and Kollam, mountain ranges and wildlife sanctuaries. Other popular attractions in the state include the beaches at Kovalam, Varkala, Kollam and Kappad; backwater tourism and lake resorts around Ashtamudi Lake, Kollam; hill stations and resorts at Munnar, Wayanad, Nelliampathi, Vagamon and Ponmudi; and national parks and wildlife sanctuaries at Periyar, Parambikulam and Eravikulam National Park. The “backwaters” region—an extensive network of interlocking rivers, lakes, and canals that centre on Ashtamudi Lake, Kollam, also see heavy tourist traffic. Heritage sites, such as the Padmanabhapuram Palace, Hill Palace, and Mattancherry Palace, are also visited. The city of Kochi ranks first in the total number of international and domestic tourists in Kerala. To further promote tourism in Kerala, the Grand Kerala Shopping Festival was started by the Government of Kerala in 2007.[8] Since then it has been held every year during the December–January period.

DAY 01: KOCHI

Pick up from Airport / Ernakulum Railway Station and transfer to the destination.Arrive in Cochin and Check in to Hotel. The commercial capital and most cosmopolitan city of Kerala, Cochin is also known as Queen of Arabian Sea. It has one of the finest natural harbours in the World. This was one of the major centres for commerce and trade with British, Chinese, Portuguese, Dutch etc. Places to Visit : Dutch Palace, (except Friday) Jewish Synagogue, (except Friday & Saturday) Jewish Street, St. Francis Church (except Sunday) and Chinese Fishing Nets.

DAY 02: KOCHI - ATHIRAPALLY

On arrival in Athirapally, check in to the hotel Athirapally Waterfalls is located 78 kms from Kochi (Cochin), located at the entrance to Sholayar ranges, this waterfall is a popular picnic spot. Affording to the onlookers, one of the most bewitching sights, Athirapally Falls is about 80 feet high and located in the forest area. Combined with the greenery, it infuses freshness into any tired soul. DAY 03: ATHIRAPALLY – MUNNAR

Check out from the hotel and proceed to next destination.On arrival in Munnar, check in to the hotel. Munnar is situated at the confluence of three mountain streams - Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundale, 1600 Meter above sea level. This hill station was once the summer resort of the erstwhile British government in South India. DAY 05: MUNNAR - THEKKADY

Check out from the hotel and proceed to next destination.On arrival in Thekkady, check in to the hotel. Thekkady is one of the world’s most fascinating wild life reserves. The Periyar Wild Life Sanctuary is spread across 777 square kilometers of which 360 square kilometers is thick ever green forest; it is noted for its geomorphology, diversity of wild life and scenic beauty. DAY 06: THEKKADY - ALLEPPEY

Check out from the hotel and proceed to next destination. On arrival in Alleppey, check in to houseboat. With the Arabian Sea in the west and a vast network of lakes, lagoons and freshwater rivers criss-crossing it, Alappuzha is a district immense natural beauty. Referred to as the Venice of East by travellers from across the world, this backwater country is home to diverse animal and bird life. By virtue of its proximity to the sea, the town has always enjoy a unique place in the maritime history of Kerala. Today, Alappuzha is an important backwater destination attracting several thousand foreign tourists every year. Alappuzha is also famous for its boat races, beaches, marine products and coir industry. A singularity of this land is the region called KUTTANAD, a land of lush paddy fields referred to as the rice bowl of Kerala and one of the few places in the world where farming is done below sea level. DAY 07: ALLEPPEY – KANYAKUMARI

Check out from the hotel and proceed to next destination. On arrival in Kanyakumari, check in to the hotel. Captivating Kanyakumari the southernmost end of Tamilnadu and the lands end of India is one of the most popular tourist spot of the country. The beautiful town on the very tip of the Indian Peninsula is set on the confluence of the Bay of Bengal, the Arabian Sea and the Indian Ocean. The town is at its best during Chaitra Poornima (full moon day in April), when the Sun and Moon are face to face at the same horizon. DAY 08: KANYAKUMARI – KOVALAM

Check out from the hotel and proceed to next destination. On arrival in Kovalam, check in to the hotel. Kovalam is an internationally renowned beach with three adjacent crescent beaches. It has been a favourite haunt of tourists, especially Europeans, since the 1930s. A massive rocky promontory on the beach has created a beautiful bay of calm waters ideal for sea bathing. The leisure options at this beach are plenty and diverse-sunbathing, swimming, herbal body toning massages, special cultural programmes, Catamaran cruising etc. The tropical sun acts so fast that one can see the faint blush of coppery tan on the skin in a matter of minutes. Life on the beach begins late in the day and carries on well into the night. Sightseeing in Trivandrum : Padmanabha Swami Temple, Kuthira Maligai Palace, Zoo, Art Gallery (All places close on Monday except Padmanabha Swami Temple).
